I’m disappointed Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu resigned as Majority Leader – Joe Wise

First Deputy Speaker of Parliament and Member of Parliament for Bekwai, Mr Joseph Osei Owusu says he is disappointed Mr Osei-Kyei-Mensah Bonsu has decided to step down as Majority Leader.

He described Osei-Kyei-Mensah Bonsu as a fantastic leader stating that the Majority caucus should have kept him to the end of the 8th Parliament.

According to him, Mr. Mensah-Bonsu has been extremely hardworking both in his role and leadership as Majority Leader.

Mr Osei-Owusu added that although he is disappointed, the caucus will take steps to fill his position with equally qualified person who would be able to hold the fourth peacefully.

He denied the speculation that the Majority caucus has elected Mr Alexander Afenyo Markin as the Majority Leader and that the caucus will remain focused in achieving its objectives.

The lawmaker shot down the suggestion that the former Majority Leader, Mr Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu was forced to step down.

Mr Joseph Osei Owusu made these comments in a media engagement soon after the adjournment of Parliament’s proceedings today.
