Limited Voter Registration: Two persons arrested over double registration at Saltpond

Two individuals have been arrested at Saltpond in the Mfantseman Municipality in the Central Region over alleged double registration in the ongoing nationwide limited voter registration exercise.

As huge number of applicants since the commencement of the exercise queued infront of the Electoral Commission’s Mfantseman Municipal office at Saltpond to get registered for the 2024 general election, two persons (a male and female) were detained at the Saltpond Police Station for having their names appear twice on the voter registration machine.

The incident which pierced shock through the spine of eyewitnesses, occurred on Sunday, September 17, 2023 afternoon.

Some natives who behold the occurrence took place told Metro News the development comes as surprising.

The Police Service is investigating the incident to ascertain the truth of the matter.
