Mahama, Alan pay last respect to late paramount chief of Sunyani

Hundreds of individuals from diverse backgrounds gathered with the Sunyani people and chiefs to commemorate the fifth-day funeral customs, known as Dotiyie, of the deceased Sunyanimanhene, Nana Bosoma Asor Nkrawiri II.

John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), led Johnson Aseidu Nketia the party’s national chairman, to the Nana Bosoma Asor Nkrawiri II Royal Palace on Thursday to pay their final respects to the late chief.

Also, the Sunyani Traditional Council and the Boahen Korkor Royal Family joined Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, the founder of the Movement for Change (M4C), and his delegation in mourning.

In addition, the public, chiefs, clergy, institutions, New Patriotic Party (NPP) and NDC members of Parliament, and a few state ministries came to the grounds to pay their final respects to the late chief.

Mr. Kyerematen also provided GHC10,000 to fund the seven-day traditional burial procedures, and Mr. Mahama donated GHC100,000 and several refreshments.

Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II, the president of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs, together with his entourage of chiefs, also attended the solemn but customarily elegant occasion.

Asor Sika Brayie II, the Omanhemaa of Sunyani, along with sub-chiefs, sat in state to meet the mourners and visiting delegations.

The New Force Movement’s founder, Nana Kwame Bediako, also led his delegation to pay their final respects to the late chief today (Friday).
