NDC Chairman urges EC to pick lessons from District Level Elections for 2024 polls

Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman, has emphasized that the Electoral Commission must learn from the just-completed District Level Elections and sufficiently prepare for the impending Presidential and Parliamentary elections on December 07, 2024.

Speaking to the media on the necessity for the EC to draw practical conclusions from the most recent exercise, Asiedu Nketia forecasted a challenging 2024, citing financial difficulties brought on by what he called the ruling NPP government’s “uninspiring” plans in the 2024 Budget statement.

He emphasized the detrimental effects that have forced many Ghanaians into financial hardship, including higher taxes, poor economic management, and rising rates of poverty.

Asiedu Nketia encouraged Ghanaians to view the impending elections as a chance for change, even in the face of the anticipated difficulties. He said that the NPP government would soon be leaving office.

He emphasized John Dramani Mahama, the NDC’s flag bearer, for his seasoned and inspiring leadership.

Asiedu Nketia presented regional breakdowns and insights into the party’s performance in historically strong NPP strongholds, all of which he claimed to be evidence of the NDC’s win in the recently concluded District Level Elections.

In addition, he welcomed the newly elected Assembly members and pledged that the NDC administration would implement allowances to improve their performance.
