Ngleshie Amanfrom MP clashes with Sam George over ‘Mahama Saviour of Ghana’ comment

Two Members of Parliament disagreed vehemently on Tuesday. April 18, 2023, edition of the Good Morning Ghana over the assertions that John Mahama can salvage Ghanaians from the untold hardships.

Mr. Samuel Nartey George. the Ningo Prampram MP had berated the governing NPP and touted former president and the presumptive 2024 presidential candidate for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama as the solution to the country’s unending economic woes.

“Ghana cannot afford another 4 years of such reckless, clueless governance, whichever of the three leading candidates it is….none of them is a viable alternative. Ghana needs to be saved. Another four years of the NPP, we will just as well partition the road,” the Ningo Prampram MP said.

He believes the ex-Jubilee House occupant’s expertise makes him the better man to turn the fortunes of Ghana,

However, Sam George’s comment did not sit well with the Ngleshie Amanfrom lawmaker, Sylvester Tetteh who in return punched gaping holes in the submission of his colleague.

Speaking in an atmosphere where you could cut the air with a knife on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana show, Mr. Tetteh posited that John Mahama had an uninspiring track record of managing the economy making him come short of the race for the presidency in the upcoming election.

“You know how funny this sounds, to the extent that if former president Mahama had never been president of this country before, I could grant Sam or I could be threatened by the kind of statement he’s making this morning. But this is a man who was the Vice President, he became an acting president and was subsequently elected to serve his full four-year term. So, he’s been well over four and half years of this republic and his track record is available where in one single election, he lost over 900, 000 votes. A decision these same Ghanaian people, the verdict they made on him.”

Mr. Tetteh stressed on the issue of rigging and manipulating the outcome of the 2024 upcoming elections as alleged by the NDC and emphasized how undefeating they can be beckoning on past records.

“I keep saying that we will continue to work our way to through the current situation we find ourselves in, and that’s the most important thing to me. For this populist and then maturism trying to woo you, I mean it’s understandable. But, to say, and get this Sam, that this impression that the NPP is out to steal the elections. We’ve won elections when you were in power. So, we don’t need to steal an election, we have a serious argument over you.”

Mr. Tetteh intimated that coming clean with their achievements and challenges will be a decider for Ghanaians rather than the shenanigans paraded by the opposition party.
