NPP Super Delegates Confab: I Feel Betrayed By Delegates – Addai-Nimoh

Former Member of Parliament for Mampong in the Ashanti Region and flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Francis Addai-Nimoh has described his performance in the just-ended NPP Super Delegates Conference as a betrayal by the delegates of the party.

According to Mr. Addai-Nimoh, per his interaction with the delegates across the country, he was convinced that he would garner votes greater than what he polled at the end of the conference last Saturday to propel him to automatically qualify for the main elections on November 4th.

However, Mr. Addai-Nimoh and former Minister for Energy, Mr. Boakye Agyarko polled 9 votes each after the polls resulting in a tie between the two of them.

The party will then decide on how to break the tie between the two to determine who takes the 5th position and proceed to the main polls on November 4th.

Commenting on his performance, the former MP noted that he anticipated higher votes than what he garnered hence describing it as a betrayal on the part of the delegates.

Speaking on Accra-based TV3 on Monday, Francis Addai-Nimoh noted that, “if you are looking for a certain number of votes and you didn’t get it, you can say betrayal.”

Vice President Dr Bawumia swept 629 of the votes (68.15%) followed by Kennedy Agyapong and Alan Kyerematen with 132 votes (14.3%) and 95 votes (10.29%) respectively.
