Daniel T. Chirawura, the Director of Finance of Parliament, has stated that December salaries for officers in the parliamentary service may not be paid before the Christmas holidays.

Mr. Chirawura clarified in a statement released on Wednesday, December 20, that the service was yet “to receive Notification of Transfer of Salaries for December 2023.”

He did point out, though, that the Service had secured the funding required to provide Officers with some extra padding over the Christmas break.

“The support will be made available to Officers before the House rises on 22 December 2023. The Service is grateful to Officers for their patience and understanding.”
