Parliamentary vetting of newly nominated ministers scheduled for March 5-12

The vetting process for the recently nominated Ministers of State will shortly commence at the Appointments Committee of Parliament.

It is anticipated that the nominees will undergo vetting between Tuesday, March 5, 2024, and Tuesday, March 12, 2024.

Andrew Egyapa Mercer, Minister-designate, Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture; Lydia Seyram Alhassan, Minister-designate, Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources; Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah, Minister-designate, Ministry of Local Government, Decentralization, and Rural Development; Ophelia Mensah Hayford, Minister-designate, Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation; and Darkoa Newman, Minister-designate, Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection will address the committee on Day 1 of the vetting process.

On the last day of the vetting process, the following deputy ministers are scheduled to appear before the committee: Akwasi Konadu, deputy minister-designate, Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources; Festus Awuah Kwofie, deputy minister-designate, Employment and Labour Ministry; Kingsley Nyarko, deputy minister-designate, Ministry of Education; and Musah Abdul Aziz Ayaba, deputy minister-designate, Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture and Development.

Between the first and last days of the vetting, the others will likewise have their chance.
