Punish Attorney General for misconduct — Gyakye Quayson tells GLC

James Gyakye Quayson, the Member of Parliament for Assin North, has complained to the General Legal Council (GLC) over what he considers the Attorney General’s (AG) improper behavior.

In his letter to the head of the General Legal Council’s disciplinary committee, Mr. Gyakye Quayson listed a number of grounds, including violations of human rights, as justifications for the AG’s misbehavior.

He claims that the Attorney General’s professional malfeasance has threatened his fundamental human right.

“Through his professional misconduct, the Attorney-General has clearly jeopardized my fundamental human right to be presumed innocent until I am proved guilty and my right to a fair trial.

“I, therefore, respectfully request disciplinary proceedings against the Attorney General for professional misconduct as outlined above,” the Assin North lawmaker wrote to the General Legal Council.
