Renowned Ghanaian sports agency SK Sports Agency is set to organize an 8-team invitational football gala at Adjiringanor Wembley Park on Wednesday, December 27, 2023.
The much-anticipated tournament will see eight teams battle it out to win a giant trophy, a $500.00 cash prize, and several other prizes from the sponsors, SK Sports Agency.
According to the organizers, the tournament, just like previous ones hosted by SK Sports Agency, is part of core efforts to identify talents and bring together footballers and lovers of the sport to cap off what has been a remarkable year.
The 8-team football gala will be played in knockout form as the eight teams face each other in one-off games, with the winners of the respective ties advancing to the semis and then to the finals.
MLS star Derrick Jones, currently a midfielder for Charlotte FC in the American topflight, is also expected to grace the event as a special guest and a scout.
Other top dignitaries anticipated to be in attendance also include the Parliamentary candidate for the Oforikrom Constituency, Anwel Ahmed Sadat, CEO of Phobocco Media in the USA, Frank Appiah Ofosuhene, and the Chief Executive Officer of Tag Transport, Mr. Tony Bonsu.
The tournament will be one of numerous football tournaments organized by SK Sports Agency this year to identify and scout for top talents from the local communities.
The agency also makes it a core mandate to aid signed players in making the right career choices by giving them good guidance and facilitating transfers to foreign teams.
