The Swiss Ambassador to Ghana, Her Excellency, Simone Giger has called on Speaker, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin to familiarize with him and explore areas of mutual partnerships.

Amongst other things, the discussions focused on topics such as decentralization, Gender equality, women empowerment, hung Parliament and others.

During the meeting, Speaker Bagbin acknowledged Switzerland as a significant ally in the field of decentralisation and good governance.

He expressed Ghana’s commitment to strengthening bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two countries. The aim is to foster collaboration in areas of mutual interest and benefit.

The discussions between the Swiss Ambassador and the Speaker reflect the importance of diplomatic relations and the exploration of partnerships to enhance governance, promote gender equality, empower women, and address pertinent issues such as the dynamics of a hung parliament.

Both parties expressed their willingness to explore opportunities for collaboration and exchange expertise in relevant areas to further strengthen the bilateral relationship between Ghana and Switzerland.
