The base of the New Patriotic Party is more likely to suffer a great shock as a result of the heightened rift between Mavis Hawa Koomson, the MP for Awutu Senya East Constituency, and the party’s Second Vice Chairman in the region, Michael Mensah.

Since 2012, Mr. Mensah has been a key player in Hawa Koomson’s campaign as he served as the party’s Constituency Secretary but their relationship grew sour when the legislator reportedly caused his removal from office as the Kasoa Municipal Chief Executive somewhere in 2021.

In a letter intercepted by Metro News, Michael Mensah, now the NPP Central Regional Second Vice Chairman expresses disapproval of “unintelligent lies” being peddled against him by the Awutu Senya East MP, Hawa Koomson, and cautions her to further refrain from matters relating to his persona and that of his family members.

DISREGARD EVIL PROPAGANDA FROM HON. HAWA KOOMSON ABOUT ME AND MY FAMILY; I HAVE HAD ENOUGH!!!

My attention has been drawn to countless calculated evil lies peddling, led by the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East (ASEC) Constituency and the Minister of Fisheries about me and my family.

Even though these lies are unintelligent, I am unable to sit aloft for her to mistake herself as smart when in fact she is not.

I wish to state that it is about time the Hon. MP and Minister respect the seat she occupies in parliament by observing some degree of decorum in her engagements.

I have been quiet all this while albeit her evil actions against me and my family. It has been no reaction from me because of party unity and oneness. But I will not take it any longer.

Again, I would like the MP to leave my name and that of my family out of her attempt to rejuvenate her sinking political image. I have not discussed any personal issue or political issues with her since I left office as MCE and do not wish to do the same ever!

She has been very untruthful and deceptive about issues that concern me, and I have been quiet for the betterment of the party. My expectation of a ‘wise’ MP is that, if for nothing at all, she should know what, when, where, and how to say when she speaks.

Repeated complaints to party leadership have proved futile, making her appear untouchable, and hence have developed the penchant of verbal misguide.

I am at this point unable to stomach her uncontrolled behaviour towards me anymore and that a repeat of same would occasion an equal and opposite reaction from me. I have had enough!!!

If she thinks she’s powerful and influential as she purports, she should campaign on her strength on her journey of image rebranding.

I wish to hereby notify the constituents of ASEC and its environs that they should disregard any lies and propaganda from the member of Parliament concerning me and / or my associates.
