UG Management Orders SRC To Sack It’s Deputy Chief Of Staff

The management of University of Ghana has ordered for the immediate removal of one Mr. Rexford Joseph Bonney, the deputy chief of staff of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC).

According to a letter addressed to the President of the SRC, the Dean of Students Affairs, Professor Rosina I. Kyerematen disclosed that checks have revealed that the said Deputy Chief of Staff is not a student of the university but rather an imposter.

The letter further revealed that Rexford Joseph Bonney enrolled with the University of Ghana for the 2021/2022 academic year after being rusticated twice from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

They contend that the student has not paid fees and registered for the 2022/2023 academic year with the University of Ghana-Legon.

“I am by this letter, directing you to immediately relieve him of his position as Deputy Chief of Staff of the SRC and officially communicate the same to all relevant stakeholders. You are reminded that only students in good standing can be appointed to committees of the UGSRC.” portions of the letter read.

But, in a response to the statement issued by the University, the said culprit, Rexford Bonney described the word ‘imposter’ used by management as defamatory.
