We are fully prepared for the qualifiers in Nigeria- Ampem Darkoa Assistant Coach

Assistant Coach of Ghana’s sole representative at this year’s WAFU Zone B CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers, Stephen Sarkodie, has established that the team is well prepared and ready to enplane to Nigeria and win that slot for the zone.

Ampem Darkoa for a second season running have bagged both the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League and FA Cup trophies making them eligible to represent Ghana at this year’s qualifiers.

The Techiman-based side made their first appearance at this tournament in Ivory Coast last season where they were unable to fight for that slot and coming second but coach Sarkodie is positive all tricks, tactics, and training that needs to be put in place for victory have been done and the team will go for the kill this year.

“Technically, we are ready. We learnt from last year and also the ladies have been through a lot of training so I am positive all is set for Nigeria,” he told Original TV, a subsidiary of the Ignite Media Group which comprises of Original 91.9FM and Metro TV.

While admitting there are some new faces, the confident trainer explained they have all come to a common understanding and have learned the ways and philosophy of Ampem Darkoa Ladies.

“I believe we are 100 percent ready for these qualifiers and this time around, we will not fail. We are going to fight for the slot to represent WAFU Zone B at this year’s CAF Champions League,” he added.

The WAFU Zone B CAF Women’s Champions League will kick start on August 18, 2023, in Benin City, Nigeria.
