Ampem Darkoa Ladies call on Corporate Ghana ahead of Champions League qualifiers in Nigeria

Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League holders Ampem Darkoa Ladies have called on Ghanaians to come to their aid as they prepare for the 2023 WAFU Zone B CAF Women’s Champions League in Nigeria.

The eventual Women’s FA Cup winners as well as last season have been at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram for a week now and fine-tuning for the tournament set for Benin City, Nigeria later this month.

Speaking in an interview with Original TV, the acting Chief Executive Officer of the Techiman-based club admitted the club will need a lot of financial support ahead of this quest while expounding that their first try last season was rocked by a lot of monetary constraints.

“I believe our inability to succeed last season in Ivory Coast was due to a lack of preparations. We were cash stuck and so this year as we head to Nigeria for the qualifiers, we are calling on Ghanaians to come to our aid and help with our budget, especially corporate Ghana”, Rashida Hassan pleaded.

The young administrator added that the technical team and the players are putting in their best and preparing feverishly but nothing can be achieved without financial backing and therefore wishes that Ghanaians would contribute considerably to help them succeed in Nigeria.

Ampem Darkoa Ladies FC are expected to fly out on August 16 ahead of the tournament which is set for August 18 to September 3, 2023.
