Adisadel College recalls student assaulted in viral video

The Adisadel College in Cape Coast has rescinded its decision and reinstated the student who was assaulted by his colleague in the viral video.

The victim is receiving medical treatment and undergoing psychological counseling to rehabilitate and help him through the trauma he went through.

A viral video recorded at an Adisadel College dormitory on June 30 captures one student locking the arms of another and forcefully hitting his face against a metal bed, resulting in profuse bleeding below the victim’s right eye while their colleagues look unconcerned.

The video aroused indignation among people of all walks of life.

Many registered their displeasure about the situation resulting in action being taken against all of the students involved.

Initially, both the perpetrator and the victim kept it hidden from the authorities until the video went viral.

Both the culprit responsible for the assault and the victim were sent home, with the suspect expected to write his West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) from the West African Examinations Council’s (WAEC) centre.
