Akufo-Addo appoints John Boadu as new SIGA boss

President Akufo-Addo has named Mr. John Boadu, the immediate former general secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), as the Director-General of the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA).

The announcement was made in a statement released on December 11, 2023 by the President.

“Pursuant to Section 17(2) of the State Interests and Governance Authority Act, 2019 (Act 990), I am pleased to inform you that you have been appointed to act as the Director General of the State Interests and Governance Authority (the Authority) pending receipt of the constitutionally required advice of the Governbing Board of the Authority given in consultation with the Public Services Commission,” the statement indicated.

“I take this opportunity to congratulate you on your appointment. Kindly indicate your acceptance or otherwise of this appointment within 14 days of receipt of this letter,” Secretary to the President, Nana Bediatuo Asante requested.

“Kindly accept the Presidents best wishes,” he said.

He has held positions with the party as National Organiser, National Youth Organiser, National Youth Treasurer, Deputy Director of Communications, Director of Information and Research, NPP Greater Accra Region, Director of Ablekuma South Constituency, Director of Information and Research, Chairman and Agent of the Korle-Bu Polling Station, Member of the Danquah – Busia Club, Kumasi, and Secretary General of the Organization of African Liberal Youth (OALY).
