Former Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Obiri Boahen, presented compelling arguments for why Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will be elected to succeed President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo when his second term expires in 2024.

According to him, there is no question that the current Vice President and the former President John Dramani Mahama would face off in a hard race in the upcoming general elections.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and John Dramani Mahama are going head-to-head in the 2024 general election. That is a face no one can argue,” Nana Obiri Boahen told Kwaku Owusu Adjei on Adwenekasa on Accra-based Original FM91.9.

He thinks the main opposition party is supporting a specific NPP candidate because they are scared of Dr. Bawumia.

“They are aware of the damage he will do to them. I believe Dr. Bawumia will win these primaries, and I am extremely confident in my prediction. I’m not swearing, but I’m just saying that Dr. Bawumia will win based on what I’ve observed and the numerous conversations I’ve had,”he added.

“Despite my love place for him(Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia) , I believe he will be the ideal candidate to harm the NDC.”

Nana Obiri Boahen expressed confidence that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will defeat John Mahama in the general elections in 2024.

Therefore, he has urged all delegates who would cast ballots in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer elections to support Dr. Bawumia and stick firm behind him.

We encourage NPP delegates to vote for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia because he is the best candidate. We ought to support this individual,”he added.
