Court grants bail to suspect in Adisadel College assault

The police have granted bail to the Adisadel student who was caught on camera strangling and verbally abusing a fellow student.

He was charged with assault and harm, but was later released to the headmaster of the school to appear in court on Friday.

The final-year student was caught on camera choking his younger classmate during a dispute over a SIM card and banging his head against a metal bed in the dormitory.

Meanwhile, the management of the Adisadel College in Cape Coast has rescinded its decision and reinstated the student who was assaulted by his colleague in the viral video.

The victim is receiving medical treatment and undergoing psychological counseling to rehabilitate and help him through the trauma he went through.

Initially, both the perpetrator and the victim kept it hidden from the authorities until the video went viral.

Both the culprit responsible for the assault and the victim were sent home, with the suspect expected to write his West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) from the West African Examinations Council’s (WAEC) centre.
