Culprits in Adisadel College assault video must be given stiff punishment — Peter Nortsu Kotoe

Member of Parliament’s Education Committee, Peter Nortsu Kotoe, is urging the Ghana Education Service to broaden its investigations into the alleged brutality of a student at the Adisadel College in Cape Coast.

In a viral video, a student of the Adisadel College in Cape student can be seen locking the arms of the victim and forcefully hitting his face against a metal bed, resulting in profuse bleeding below the victim’s right eye in a dormitory.

Whilst expressing shock over the content of the viral video in an interview with Metro TV’s Abdallah Mohammed on July 25, the MP called for stiff punishment of all students who may be found culpable in the incident which is reported to have happened last month.

Meanwhile, the management of Adisadel College in a statement said the two students who are both in their final year have been sanctioned.

The culprit has been dismissed, while the victim, suspended.

However, the culprit will be made to write his final exams with the West African Examination Council.

Onlookers who made no attempt to save the situation will also be sanctioned.

While the housemaster, his assistant, and the one responsible for capturing the scene will face suspension with different sanctions.
