Insult is the hallmark of NPP, Bawumia rose to fame ‘hurling insults’ – Alhassan Suhuyini

Member of Parliament for Tamale North, Alhassan Sayibu Suhuyini, says he is not taken aback by the presence of personal attacks and insults among NPP presidential aspirants since the party is renowned for such behavior

During his guest appearance on the Good Morning Ghana show on Metro TV on Friday, July 21, 2o23, the Tamale North MP mentioned that, apart from the docket that Mahamudu Bawumia presented on behalf of the NPP during the 2013 election petition case, his other claim to fame is his penchant for ridiculing and insulting his opponents.

Hence, he is surprised that the National Executives find it disturbing now.

“Aside [from] the docket that Mahamoud Bawumia went into on behalf of the NPP during the election petition case in 2013, his other claim to fame is how he ridicules and insults his opponents.”

Referencing the Media Foundation for West Africa reports on politicians who are fond of using vulgar language in their utterances, Alhassan Suhuyini asserted that, “If you look at the Media Foundation for West Africa’s work on insults in our politicking, those who have always topped the chart are members of the NPP. If it is not Abronya, it is Kennedy Agyapong, their stations or stations affiliated to them. The NPP always topped.”

Suhuyini questioned the whereabouts of these national executives when the NPP was celebrating Bawumia for employing coarse language against their opponents.

Nonetheless, he conveyed his best wishes to the presidential hopefuls for their upcoming primaries and expressed contentment that the matter of ridiculing has garnered attention within the NPP.
