Investigations yet to be concluded on the church building collapse at Bortianor

Investigations into the collapse of the church auditorium belonging to the World in Action Church at Bortianor in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region are yet to come to a conclusive end.

Church leaders however say the May 9 disaster has negatively affected the church.

On May 9, 2023, the World In Action Church suffered a disaster as its church auditorium located at Ajasco Junction in Bortianor in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region collapsed.

Seven persons who were working on an extension project of the building were affected with one of them suffering critical injuries.

The Ghana National Fire Service in its preliminary analysis conducted at the disaster site cited lapses in the construction process for the disaster.

But several months down the line, responsible agencies are yet to conclude their in-depth investigations. However, the victim who got critically injured has since been treated and discharged.

Founder and Leader of the World In Action Church, Pastor Mark Mintah says the church is satisfied with the level of engagement so far.

But the disaster has really affected the activities of the church. The church’s finances have also been heavily affected. At moment, fellowships are being held in a makeshift structure.

Even so, church leaders are thankful that no lives were lost through the disaster and are seeking to rebuild the collapsed church auditorium but say it will be more vigilant this time around.
