KOFIH reassures support to NHIS toward achieving Universal Health Coverage

The Korea Foundation for International Healthcare (KOFIH) has renewed its commitment toward the NHIS quest of achieving Universal Health Coverage by 2030.

KOFIH has supported the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) since 2013 to enhance membership enrolment, improve claims management, improve research, and build staff capacity with the view to assisting NHIA achieve Universal Health Coverage.

The NHIA and KOFIH are currently working on a Project Titled: Policy Cooperation and Strategy Development for Ghana NHIA for achieving Universal Health Coverage in Africa.

In which the parties seek to develop a Research Policy and Agenda to guide research within NHIA, build capacity for research and data analysis in Health Insurance management, and conduct joint research regarding topics on improving the NHIS system and increasing population coverage in Ghana among others.

New NHIA Chief Executive Dr. Da-Costa Aboagye thanked the Korean team for briefing him on the milestones achieved and pledged to further enhance the long-standing relationship with KOFIH.

The KOFIH team was represented by their Country Director, Mr. Bomin Yang, Ms. Miyoung Jin, an ODA specialist, and Ms. Priscilla Amaning-Ampong, a Project Manager while the NHIA had the Deputy CEO Admin/HR, Dr. Mrs Yaa Pokuaa Baiden, DCE Operations Mrs. Louisa Atta-Agyemang and other Directors and staff present.
