The National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters’ assault on Citi FM journalist Akosua Otchere in Odododiodio on October 13, 2023, has been condemned by the Ministry of Information.

The Ministry stated in a statement that journalists or media organizations cannot be attacked, harassed, or threatened simply for carrying out their jobs.

“The Ministry has urged the station to formally report the incident to both the Ghana Police Service and the NMC for appropriate action to be taken against the perpetrators.”

Akosua Otchere was assaulted on Friday, October 13, 2023, as she covered the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) parliamentary candidate vetting in Accra’s Odododiodio constituency.

Some NDC thugs attacked Ms. Otchere, twisting her hand and stealing her phone.
