Bank roller of Premier League side, Hearts of Lion, Dr. Randy Abbey has expressed his disgust at the recent perceived gang-up against Black Stars head coach, Chris Hughton.
Speaking on the Original Super Sports Show, the astute media personality expressed shock at recent publications suggesting the hierarchy of the Ghana Football Association is after the gaffer and orchestrating his sack.
Siting examples of misquotations from interviews granted by fellow football administrators, the GFA EXCO Member said it is disheartening and uncalled for.
Dr. Abbey, who is also the host of Good Morning Ghana on Metro TV, indicated he is a recent victim of such mischief and it was reported to have said the national team gaffer has not lived up to expectations.
“I was asked my view on Chris Hughton and I said I am not a member of the management committee so cannot say, ” he explained.
Dr. Abbey added that he had only been privileged to watch a game under the tutelage of Chris Hughton and per commentary and the manager’s own post-match interviews, he only agreed the Black Stars need to improve.
Chris Hughton took over the reigns of the senior national team after a poor show at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
