Perez Chapel Declares One-Week Fasting & Prayer For Bishop Agyinasare Over His Nogokpo Controversy

Amidst the social media controversy that has erupted from the comment of the founder and leader of Perez Chapel International, Archbishop Charles Agyinasare about the Nogokpo shrine in the Volta Region, the council of the church has declared a one-week fasting for the Man of God.

Archbishop Charles Agyinasare in a sermon on May 25, 2023, made the pronouncement that the Nogokpo Shrine is the demonic headquarters of the Volta Region.

His claim has angered the folks, chiefs, and priests of Nogokpo hence summoning the Man of God to appear before the shrine within 14 days for his “sins to be atoned” or else face the wrath of the gods.

The issue has been trending on all major social platforms creating a rift between the church, the Nogokpo shrine and some infuriated natives of the Volta Region.

Following this heated controversy, the Perez Council, on behalf of the Executive Council of the Perez Chapel, on Sunday, June 4, 2023, has declared 7-day fasting and prayer for Bishop Agyinasare.

Presiding Bishop of Perez Chapel International, Benjamin Ohene Aboagye in his announcement noted that all pastors, elders, deacons, deaconesses, and all other members must make it a point to take part in the spiritual exercise in order to seek the face of God in the matter.

“On the 25th of last month, during our Supernatural Empowerment Summit, Archbishop Charles Agyinasare made a statement concerning the Nogokpo issue. I think we are all aware of the issue in Ghana. It is trending on social media and other platforms. We, the Perez Council, on behalf of the Executive Council, have taken notice of all these things and this is what the Executive Council is saying. We are declaring a one-week fast from the 5th to the 11th of this month, and we expect all pastors, elders, deacons, deaconesses, and all our churches to participate in this fast for one week,” the presiding Bishop noted.

He added that, “We believe that God is our helper. He is our rock. He is the one we look up to. So this is the decision we have taken for now. We expect everyone [in all our branches] to take part in this fast.”

Meanwhile, Archbishop Agyinasare has since said that he did not mean to cast a slur on the people of Nogokpo.
