Quit NPP and join us — Central Regional NDC advises Kennedy Agyapong

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Central Region has urged Assin Central MP to reconsider his stay in the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The NDC Central Regional Chairman, Professor Kofi Aseidu says the tradition of the NPP does not favor any candidate outside the Danquah, Busia, and Dombo families.

According to him, the turn of events after Saturday’s New Patriotic Party presidential primaries is a clear establishment of the party’s unpreparedness to go against its Danquah-BusiaDombo tradition as he expresses concern over what he described as a clear case of intimidation against Kennedy Agyapong, a son of the Central Region during the election.

Professor Kofi Aseidu criticized the NPP government for utilizing the party machinery to the advantage of one candidate against the other three who contested in the election thus admonished the Assin Central MP to consider joining the NDC as the party possesses an established record of offering leadership opportunities to people with diverse backgrounds.

In the Awutu Senya East constituency where Mavis Hawa Koomson, Dr Bawumia’s Campaign CVoordinator for the Central Region serves as MP, Kennedy Agyapong beat Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

The NDC believes the results will have a bearing on the 2024 parliamentary elections in Kasoa as it strongly believes that the development is a clear indication of diminished popularity for Hawa Koomson.
