The Member of Parliament for Banda and the first Minority Chief Whip Ahmed Ibrahim has boldly spoken out against the lack of developmental projects in the region.
During a meeting with the TEIN (a group tertiary education group affiliated with the main opposition NDC) of the Sunyani Technical University, the legislature fearlessly expressed his frustration with the current state of affairs in the Bono region.
The Banda MP descended heavily on the current NPP government leadership in the region for deceiving the Bono people.
According to him, many developmental projects have been carried out in various regions under this NPP government but nothing to show in Bono.
He urged the NPP leadership to stop attacking and denigrating Bono Chiefs and rather bring development to the area and further called upon all the politicians in Bono to unitedly fight for monumental projects that would benefit the region or risk the next generation disappointed in the current crop of politicians in the region.
According to him, the Bono region’s lack of road infrastructure, education, health, and other essentials that are necessary for the region’s growth does not speak well for political leaders in the region.
Ahmed’s confidence was unshakeable when he questioned why the library project that was started in 2006 had not been completed.
He unapologetically urged the politicians to take swift action and ensure that the project is completed as soon as possible.
“The library would be a vital resource for the youth and the community, and the delay in its completion is unacceptable,” Ahmed Ibrahim noted.
“Bono region has been neglected for far too long and it’s time for the politicians to take action,” he added.
