Ukraine has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with the Republic of Ghana by formally inaugurating its Embassy in Accra.

The ceremony, which was attended by politicians and notable guests such as members of the Diplomatic Corps and Ukrainians living in Ghana, signaled a turning point in the history of ties between the two nations.

The government and people of Ghana were instrumental in enabling the formation of the diplomatic post in Accra, as stated by H.E. Maksym Subkh, the special envoy of Ukraine for the Middle East and Africa Region.

According to him, the inauguration of the Ukrainian Embassy in Ghana demonstrated how motivated both countries are to develop and strengthen their bilateral relations.

Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong, the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, responded by recognizing Ghana’s and Ukraine’s long-standing connection, which began when Ukraine gained independence in 1992.

He reaffirmed the Ministry’s dedication to helping the Charge d’Affaires ad Interim of Ukraine carry out his responsibilities in an efficient manner in order to strengthen connections between the two nations.

H.E. Maksym Subkh paid Mr. Ampratwum-Sarpong a courtesy call at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration before the official opening.

They explored possible areas of cooperation between Ghana and Ukraine during their fruitful conversations.

Ukraine and Ghana are predicted to engage more closely on the political, cultural, and economic fronts with the establishment of a resident mission in Accra.

This development demonstrates the dedication of both countries to enhancing their mutual cooperation and fortifying their friendship.

As a new chapter of increased cooperation and deeper diplomatic connections between the two countries begins with the opening of the Ukrainian Embassy in Ghana, optimism for the future is restored.
