We made a mistake by leaving the NPP — Alan’s supporters admit

Over 6,000 supporters of the Movement For Change who defected from the New Patriotic Party have admitted it was a wrong decision and have returned to the party.

The group announced their departure from the governing party at a press conference on Monday, 22 April 2024.

According to the group, emotions clouded their judgments when Mr. Kyerematen could not secure the bid to become the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party and subsequently abandoned the party to support Alan’s Movement for Change.

“It has become evidently clear that we made a mistake, I repeat, it has become evidently clear that we made a mistake. A mistake that we humbly admit and ready to work to ensure that its dire effect is reversed or averted” says the leader of the group, Alfred Ababio Kumi.

Also, the group explained that upon deep reflection especially “Since the February 7, 2024 speech by the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia”, it has decided to return to the “progressive New Patriotic Party” and to throw their support behind the flagbearer of the Party.

In their renewed support for the NPP flagbearer, Alfred Ababio Kumi reiterated that Dr. Bawumia is the only visionary candidate who understands the dynamics and challenges confronting the Country and has the capabilities to fix them.

“It has become unarguably clear that amongst all the political leaders, Dr. Bawumia has so far been the one who has clearly articulated the Ghana story, where we come from, what we have to achieve, the challenges therein, he has even admitted the shortfalls and most importantly has clearly communicated his solutions to the challenges confronting us as a country”

Meanwhile, in a statement released on Monday, April 22, 2024 by the Nationwide Supporters of Alan Cash, it vehemently criticised the New Patriotic Party for allegedly attempting to bribe the youth of Movement for Change unto their (NPP) side.

The letter signed by Luther King Jnr. stressed that neither the New Patriotic Party nor the National Democratic Congress shall take the youth for granted.
