The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Ho Municipal Assembly, Divine Richard Bossman, and other Chief Executives have lauded an initiative by Zoomlion Ghana Limited in partnership with the local Government Ministry to evacuate heaps of refuse dotted across the Volta Region.

Mr. Bossman noted the exercise will go a long way to avert possible outbreaks of diseases in the region.

Many districts and municipalities of the Volta Region are faced with the challenge of clearing heaps of refuse that have become a public health concern.

The Chief Executives of the various assemblies say they are unable to bare the financial cost to evaluate the refuse.

They describe the initiative by Zoomlion to evaluate heaps of refuse as timely.

The Municipal Chief Executive of the Ho Municipal Assembly Divine Richard Bossman noted the assembly going forward will enforce the law without fear of favor to check indiscriminate dumping of refuse.

The refuse evacuation exercise in the region took the team to the Bishop Herman Secondary School where one of the oldest heaps of refuse is located.
