The Black Stars of Ghana will begin their 2022 World Cup campaign in Qatar today, November 24, 2022.
In the Group H opening, the Black Stars will face Portugal at the 974 Stadium in Doha.
The game will kick off at 4 pm.
After a poor 2014 campaign in Brazil, the Black Stars intend to make a statement against Cristiano Ronaldo’s team later today.
Black Stars’ head coach, Otto Addo will play a strong squad for the expected match in an effort to defeat the Portuguese.
Otto Addo has stated a victory over Portugal in the opening match of the 2022 World Cup is the team’s focus.
“We want to go game by game so our full focus is on the Portuguese game. If we don’t look too far and we concentrate on the next game, I think we can do something,” he said at a press conference.
He added, “From there, nobody knows, it depends on who you get and also how you play.
“It’s very difficult to predict so our main focus is to win against Portugal, which will be very difficult. After that, we’ll look at the next step,” the Black Stars head coach indicated.
