Accepting the invitation, Mrs Santuo Ocrah said, “the target participants of Transform Summit are youth and young leaders, young professionals and students. These are energetic people with a lot of aspirations some of which, Ghana’s prevailing environment and system do not help their actualisation. They, therefore need information and education on what are required of them to attain their aspirations and dreams in other parts of the world they may like to travel to.”

According to her, “many may need to migrate to educate themselves or work elsewhere as part of the process of actualising their dreams and aspirations. Not everybody could make it in Ghana. The system kills talents than help them grow productively. So, while we all work to improve the system, those who desire to travel elsewhere to expore and exploit opportunities there must be guided to do so stresslessly.”

Other key speakers include Professors Ellis Owusu Dabo, Pro vice-chancellor, KNUST, Prof. Christian Agyare, provost of knust, and Dr. Marion Okoh-Owusu, Western Regional Health Director who would brainstorm the rising challenge of youth unemployment, modalities to drive down the frightening statistics, and proffer modalities to engender growth.

In a statement released by organisers, the Founder of Young Professionals and Youth Coalition, YPYC, Mr. Andy Okrah said the 14th edition of their flagship transformational leadership development event is unique in the sense that it brings highly respected mentors from various industries to engage with and young leadership mentees to transfer their vast knowledge and experience to them.

The event’s twin acclaimed awards scheme would also witness the recognition of some outstanding, high-end performing Ghanaians in the food chain industry, media, Politics and academia among others.

The Transform Summit is held annually to recognize the display of exemplary leadership skills among the youth in a highly competitive voting process by the public.

“Our success story, imprinted on the minds of thousands around the Globe, is credited to our mentors, Corporate Ghana, Royalty, the media and the public in General” declared YPYC President, Andy Osei Okrah.

The statement paid glowing tribute to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu the second, for his unblemished life-patronage, the media for sustained coverage and traction, conference speakers for shared knowledge and award winners who defy odds and etch their footprints in the sands of time, annually.

The transform summit which, brings academia, job seekers and students together, attests to our keen commitment to galvanizing the youth into a stronger force for the much needed transformational leadership that Ghana, and, indeed, Africa, needs.

“We are determined to ride on the back of our collective success story to encourage the youth to develop the traits of tenacity, accountability and honesty as virtues we hold true, and owe successive generations,” the statement concluded.
