New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer aspirant, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong has hit back at attempts by his competitor aspirant, Kennedy Agyapong to discredit his bid for the coveted position.

According to the former General Secretary of the NPP, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central on various platforms is claiming credit for his [Kwabena Agyepong] stint as the General Secretary for the NPP.

Kwabena Agyepong claims Kennedy Agyapong has been selling to the delegates of the party that he brought and sponsored him to contest for the general secretary position adding that he [Kwabena Agyepong] is not fit for the position.

Speaking in an interview with Accra-based Peace FM, the former Press Secretary to former President Kuffour debunked such claims describing them as palpable falsehoods.

He stressed that Kennedy Agyapong was never part of his campaign team and he never saw him during his bid.

“During my campaign, I never saw you once. Never accompanied anywhere, you were not a part of my team. So, you can’t go there, outside, and create the impression that you introduced me to the party,” he insisted.
He advised Kennedy Agyapong not to say things he has never done.

“A lot of people have helped the party in diverse ways but don’t say something you haven’t done. It is not true; I’m disputing that.”
