A 21-year-old woman has allegedly committed suicide as a result of hunger at Okyereko in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.

The deceased also expressed dissatisfaction with her body type.

The deceased, only identified as Vida allegedly wrote in her suicide note that she was tired of battling hunger and could no longer endure another night on an empty stomach.

Per the letter, the deceased was also discontent with her body type as she complained about being slimy, unlike other girls of her age.

She disclosed in her letter where she kept a sibling’s money that was given to her for safekeeping and also willed her smartphone to a younger brother.

She further directed her family to award her life savings to her sister.

The development has thrown relatives and neighbors into a total state of shock.

Police in the area have since retrieved the body for preservation and autopsy and have commenced investigations.
