A flagbearer hopeful for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, says winning the slot is the surest one the governing party can break the eight.

He disclosed this after he casted his vote in the ongoing NPP presidential election.

Speaking to the media, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central highlighted salient reasons delegates should give him the mandate to lead the NPP.

According to him, Ghana needs a bold and honest leader to lead the country and he posses those traits.

He threw more light on his chances of winning the forthcoming 2024 polls if he is elected the flagbearer, stating that he is the only rightful person to retire the opposition leader John Mahama in politics.

The outspoken politician also clarified his showdown comment which has dominated the trends.

He explained that he has no malicious intents with his comment and that he spoke furiously because he felt cheated.

Meanwhile, several polls have tipped Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to win the contest although they predict the Assin Central lawmaker will give him a run for his money.
